Kensal Community Clinic
MISSION STATEMENT
Kensal Community Clinic (KCC) is a not-for–profit organisation conceived in 2012 by co founder of the clinic Gillian Lonsdale. Its purpose has been to provide ‘Open Access’ Osteopathic healthcare to people in the wider community of North West London.
‘Open Access’ describes provision of access to osteopathic treatment for those people and their children who aren’t typically accessing complementary treatments for a variety of factors.
The service(s) provided by Kensal Community Low cost Clinic are available to individuals or social groups who are most in need. This includes those experiencing financial, social or educational disadvantage in healthcare provision due their personal difficulties. It also includes those living with or caring for, people with chronic pain or a long-term health condition which prevents them from normal work or occupation. We accept and understand that this causes many hardships for people in these situations .
“Kensal Community Clinic is dedicated to becoming the largest provider of Osteopathic healthcare services which are accessible to the North & West London community. The service is provided independent of inequalities in financial resources that individuals may face”.
KCC will principally provide low cost osteopathic & complementary healthcare treatments along with healthcare advice to individuals and families who would not normally be able to access or afford the cost of these treatments in private practice.
AIMS
To increase access to Osteopathic and holistic health/well being treatment approaches to individuals and families who would not normally have access to or could not afford the cost of such therapies through private practice.
To improve the health & well being of individuals/social groups etc who may be experiencing inequalities in healthcare provision through the provision of Osteopathy and other complementary therapies.
We believe that our role in the community is to complement the care already given by other healthcare providers/NHS, particularly in the management of the pain and disability of painful musculoskeletal conditions. Also, providing information and support (via onward referral or sign posting) for other health conditions and the accompanying mental and emotional distress.
By offering access to affordable/low-cost Osteopathic treatment we also aim to empower individuals to take proactive and positive steps towards greater wellbeing and healthier lifestyles.
To help promote Osteopathy to individuals who may not be familiar with the model of healthcare. To allow individuals the opportunity to see if Osteopathy would be suitable or if they would benefit from the treatment.
